Challenge

Production, Service and Trade Company "SCHED-POL" Stefan and Henryk Schaedler, General Partnership from Międzychód (Wielkopolskie Voivodeship), during a meeting with a PWB representative, presented the concept of developing its product offer and expanding the machinery park. Our task was to propose a suitable source of financing for the project, the essence of which will be the application of innovative solutions in producing interior furnishings and linear water drainage systems.

The Company's motivation for investment activities was the inability to introduce new products from the upper price range: shower trays, washbasins, and linear drains from the premium segment, as its technological lines did not allow the introduction of many solutions from the luxury product segment. To achieve the planned effect, it was necessary to use the pressure application of polyurethanes strictly per electronic documentation, i.e., with all dimensions applied on a drawing. The technology allowed alternative finishing of the canopy with embossed washboard abs or polyester resin.

The added value of using the technology was also the possibility of eliminating the polystyrene support, facilitating the process of assembling the finished product, strengthening the structure, reducing the time needed to manufacture the product, and eliminating glued joints.

Our activity

After recognizing the Company’s organizational and financial readiness to implement the investment, we jointly conducted a simulation of the evaluation of the application, taking into account the substantive criteria, which confirmed the project's great potential. We proposed to apply for a grant under Measure 1.2 of the WRPO program (Great Poland Regional Operational Program). In the application documentation, we tried to emphasize all the strengths and opportunities of the project, as well as the possible results, which have a measurable impact on the Company’s financial situation, including, above all, an increase in sales revenue due to the introduction of new products to the offer: the washbasin with resin canopy on polyurethane support, linear water drainage system, and improved products, such as the acrylic shower tray on polyurethane support with a polyurethane system, the acrylic shower tray on polyurethane support with a polyurethane system, the acrylic shower tray on polyurethane support with a linear water drainage system, the acrylic shower tray with resin canopy on polyurethane support with a linear water drainage system. The Company’s declaration to create six new jobs, and consequently, the employment of six people on full-time employment contracts, was very significant for the local labor market.

Results

Production, Service and Trade Company "SCHED-POL" Stefan and Henryk Schaedler, General Partnership completed the entire material and financial scope of the project titled "Application of innovative solutions in the production of articles of interior decoration (shower trays, washbasins) and linear water drainage systems" under WRPO 1.2. program in less than two years. The total value of eligible expenses of the project amounted to PLN 2.2 million, and the Company received a refund of 50% of the incurred qualified expenses, i.e., PLN 1.1 million. One month before the expiration of the project's three-year sustainability period, in January 2015, the Company was subjected to an inspection by the Office of the Marshal of the Great Poland Region, for the preparation of which a representative of PWB was dedicated under a previously concluded cooperation agreement, at no additional cost. The audit confirmed the correctness of how the project's objectives and results were maintained during the sustainability period by the provisions of the grant agreement.
